Jeremy Rodden

I am an overeducated stay-at-home dad to three wonderful sons. I have a BA in Religion and English Writing and an MA in Education. I worked briefly as a high school English teacher before we opted to keep me home when my second son was born in 2010. As a writer, I consider C.S. Lewis, Lewis Carroll, Douglas Adams, and Neil Gaiman my strongest influences. I enjoy multi-layered plots, clever wordplay, and bad jokes.

Share:FacebookTwitteremailTumblrPinterestThe second of my All Request Review month cartoon reviews is for a new version of an old show.  Anyone who read my Thundercats review knows that I am not one to immediately dismiss a reboot simply because it is a reboot.  I would never dismiss something without watching it to see if it is …

Hey Stay-At-Home Dads: Wanna Be Published?

Share:FacebookTwitteremailTumblrPinterestYeah, that’s right! Are you a stay-at-home dad/househusband/homemaker/Mr. Mom (I hate that last epithet, by the way)?  I am currently seeking contributors to a non-fiction essay anthology that will hopefully be published in early to mid December through my publishing company, Portmanteau Press LLC. Share:FacebookTwitteremailTumblrPinterestI declared October “All Request Review” month here on Toonopolis, The Blog’s Saturday Morning Cartoon Reviews.  Wow, that was a lot of capital letters in one sentence.  This week, I opted for one that sparked a mini conversation over on Facebook and really inspired me.  I am reviewing the Teletoon show Johnny Test this week. …
