Main Page -- Employees -- Toon Roster -- Areina Tarehn

Creator: Jen Bruck
Name: Areina Tarehn
Height/Weight: 5'5"/115 lbs.
Real Name: Areina Tarehn
Race: Human
Age: 15
Style: Whatever it takes, yer goin' down!
From: England, The Real World
Weapon: A wand made of mahogany, and her own two fists.
Theme: "Cut Your Ribbon" by SPARTA
Description: Areina has long, chocolaty brown hair, most of which is swept back into a ponytail that has a curly twist at the very end. She parts her bangs on the very right side of her head and sweeps most of them across her forehead, letting them frame the left side of her face. Her eyes are a mystical violet color, and her skin is fair, though not pale. As for her outfit, she normally wears a white, collared dress shirt underneath a gray vest with green trim, complete with a gray and green striped tie. Her skirt is longish and pleated, and its color is a gray so deep it almost appears to be black, and she often wears a robe of the same color over the rest of her clothing. She carries a long, mahogany wand with her at all times.
Attitude: Bitchy McBitch is the unspoken nickname of Miss Tarehn. Rude, insolent, and spoiled, Areina speaks her mind and will stoop to any means to get whatever she wants. At least she has reason to have a holier-than-thou attitude, however; she isn't just cunning and clever: she is strong and athletic, allowing her to formulate comprehensive strategies and use force to reach her goals.
Strengths: Areina is agile, tenacious, and cunning, and is able to make the best out of any situation by using objects, discarded weapons, and unlikely items around her to her advantage. Also, during her "time of the month" (once every 3 or 4 episodes) she experiences extreme stomach trauma, which causes her body to alter itself so that her nerves no longer send signals of pain. This allows her to push her body to the utmost limit and have it do things she normally couldn't because of pain, and also, for some reason, allows her limited access to c-space when she normally can't use it. This phenomenon can also happen if she experiences a severe stomach wound during a match, even if it isn't her special week.
Weaknesses: Although she can be wily or use magic when necessary, Areina's main style of fighting is "beat the crap out of you", which tends to be direct and predictable, and thus easily countered. Although she is strong for a girl, she's also very light and easily tossed around if someone gets in a good hit. Also, her strength of being immune to pain is also a severe weakness. For example, if Areina breaks a bone in her leg she will not notice and walk on that leg anyway. This could cause her bone to break further and sever a muscle, thus rendering her leg completely useless. In such a state she is also not aware of how much blood she is losing, and could simply pass out due to injuries that she had no clue she obtained.
Finishing Move: Areina prefers not to have a trademark move that is known and can be defended against. Rather, her tactics change depending on her opponent.
Origin: Areina's family was filthy rich. This was because somewhere down the line one of her ancestors invented a cheaper, more reliable sticky substance to use on sticky note pads. It was a hit, of course, and Areina's parents eventually inherited the business and the family fortune.

The little Tarehn girl always got whatever she wanted. Her parents didn't hand it out to her all willy-nilly, oh no! There were terms that had to be met. Areina had to do well in school, join after school activities, and then excel in all of those, too. She managed to do all this effortlessly even though she despised hard work - she was a very clever child, and she was always getting high marks in her classes and performing flawlessly in gymnastics competitions.

Although she seemed like a perfect role model for all the children of the neighborhood, Areina was actually quite the bully. She never stole lunch money, for such activities were beneath her and she had plenty of money anyway, but she was never above snide remarks, petty quarrels, and the occasional full-out brawl. If she felt that doing something would suit her image or help her in anyway, she would do it with no questions asked, and not regret it later.

A few days after her 15th birthday, Areina was made to sit at a business meeting with her parents, for she was to inherit the company someday and needed to learn how things were run. Afterwards she had felt unreasonably groggy - it was only eight o'clock - and had trudged up to her room, falling into a deep slumber before her head hit the pillow. When she awoke, she found herself wearing unfamiliar clothes in an unfamiliar dungeon where an unfamiliar man had chained her to the wall. Needless to say, she escaped (the details of which will surely be seen on television, hint hint!) and met up with a group of strange girls, who immediately mistook Areina to be a friend of theirs, and afterwards found out otherwise.

Manager
Name: The Hufflepuff 5th year females
Height/Weight: Varies/Varies
Race: Human
Description: Hufflepuffs traditionally wear an outfit similar to Areina' s, only their vests have yellow trim and their ties are yellow and black. There are five 5th year Hufflepuff girls, and their physical traits vary greatly.

*Louise: Very short and wavy blonde hair, slightly longer in the front. It curls up towards her face right by her chin. Her eyes are green, and she is a bit shorter than Areina.

*Mary Kate: A couple of inches taller than Areina with light brown hair of medium length and bangs parted in the middle; her eyes are hazel.

*Tamika: Creamy brown skin and innocent, dark brown eyes. She an inch taller than Areina, and her wiry brown hair is in many braids that seem to stick out every which way.

*Brittany: Medium length straight orange hair in a ponytail with bangs over her forehead. Her eyes are green and her fair skin is covered in freckles. She is around the same height as Areina.

*Janie: A couple of inches shorter than Areina with black, curly hair that makes it seem as if a cloud has settled around her head. Her eyes are blue, and she has some freckles across her nose.
Attitude: Hufflepuffs are traditionally known for being hard-working and loyal, which is why Areina "puts up with them." The five Hufflepuff girls themselves share these traits, but each has a personality of their own that makes them unique: whiny and persistent, quiet and confident, shy and thoughtful, sarcastic and nosy, optimistic and cheerful. The girls let Areina boss them around because she provides the girls protection from the other Slytherins.
Origin: The Hufflepuffs are part of the wizarding community in Scotland, Toonopolis. Ignore that boy-who-lived in the corner! Actually, he doesn't exist in Toonopolis at all; neither do any other main characters that appear in a certain series that many real-world readers have grown to know and love. Those who live in Scotland, Toonopolis are scrap characters that never made it into the books.

The history of the wizarding world in Toonopolis is much the same as it is in The Real World, but the lack of living main characters changes things around quite a bit (for instance, wizards in Toonopolis haven't had their lives turned upside-down by a certain evil dark lord!). The memories of the Hogwarts residents are therefore constantly changing according to how history changes in The Real World.
